  1.                              Hemolytic Anemia
  2. SYMPTOMS. Hemolytic Anemia may show signs of jaundice (a yellowing of the
  3. skin), fever, chills, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and any of the signs
  4. for Iron Deficiency Anemia.
  5. CAUSES. The anemia is caused by the failure of new red blood cells to form
  6. as fast as they are destroyed. The red blood cells being destroyed may be
  7. caused by mismatched blood transfusions, Rh incompatibility, reactions to
  8. some medications and industrial poisons such as aniline and benzene.
  9. TREATMENT. A blood transfusion and other treatment is usually needed.
